Know Thyself: An exercise in millennial self-discovery

This is just a quick little post, placing two videos side-by-side. The first is a video that went viral this winter by Simon Sinek, sharing very relatable insights into how the struggle is so real for millennials. The next is by Kelly Williams-Brown, sharing the questions – “hasn’t every generation thought the struggle was real?” and also: “wait, hasn’t the struggle actually been real?”

Between the two, a fair amount of discussion takes place about “the millennials”. I keep thinking I’ll have formulated my own thoughts on this subject by now, but to be honest, I haven’t. I think most points in this discussion are simply interesting and worthy of contemplation – both for employers trying to figure out these kids today, and these kids today trying to figure out their employers.
