Careers in Coffee Webinar Series 2017

Are you trying to figure out what you’re doing with your life in coffee? Yeah, me too. So are a lot of us. Sometimes, we don’t even know what opportunities are out there! That’s why this year I’ll host six sessions with awesome coffee people who’ll share who they are, what they do, and how they got there. You’ll also have the exclusive opportunity to ask questions and gain insights on how you can get your dream job in coffee.

Series Part 4: The Retailer
15.00

This July, we'll talk about Retailing with our esteemed guests Trevor Corlett of Madcap Coffee and Heather Perry of Klatch Coffee. You may know their faces from competition performances, leadership with the Barista Guild Executive Council, and now their presence on the SCA board. But they also each play a primary role in operating their businesses - which each have 3 retail locations, a successful roasting business, and training centers. During the call, they'll discuss how they got there and how they manage it all. This will be a great chat if you are thinking about starting your own retail business! July 26th at 1pm PST – register here.

Series Part 5: The Trader
15.00

The fifth installment of the Careers in Coffee Series is all about traders! On September 27 at 1:00 PM PST we'll be chatting with Mark Inman and Rob Stephen, both of Olam Coffee. Along with being industry bffs, they've both stacked up large lists of skills and jobs. They've held a variety of positions including barista, roaster, buyer, small business owner, and SCAA President. Join us!

January, March, May, July, September, November 2017.

The only thing I’m trying to sell – really – is advice for you to build your career. I am very hopeful that this series advice will resonate for you as we talk with industry professionals about their careers. I know that coffee people aren’t made of money, so a big cost event or activity may be too much. But $5 a month seems like a no brainer, if it means increasing your professional worth in the industry.  Plus, the bad jokes are always free. Join us!
